Anyone that's been talking closely to me in the last 3 months may very well be aware of how much I've longed to come visit home ever since I left for my 3rd semester at UIllinois. I've been so accustomed to shooting cityscapes and landscapes within the west coast, that the move to Champaign-Urbana was drastic enough. Spoiled, close-minded, call it what you will, but there's no denying the fact that it's anything but rustic and barren in the Golden State. I think it'll definitely take time adjusting to the landscapes (or lack thereof), when your campus is surrounded by cornfields, but it's certainly nothing shy of impressive in its own unique way (midwest sunsets are as lit as can be). Having landed in Oakland on Saturday after a major 5-hour delay due to snowfall in Chicago, my plans for Saturday night to go out to shoot were immediately thwarted and thrown back a day or two. Today (monday), being my first free day, I immediately capitalized on the opportunity to pay the City a long and overdue visit. Shot all of these just today on a 24-105 f/4L that I happened to have in my hands for a day, before handing it off to a close friend.
